    gm 2.5 is a four cylinder. number one is on the passenger side. GM has a 2.8 liter V-6, number one is on the back side of the engine on the passenger side. 1-3-5 are on the back 2-4-6 are on the front.     On the rear passenger side where the bell housing would bolt up: 14093638 Opposite that on the driver's side: GM 5.7LG, SGI and under that a stamp that looks like " LO" or if you turn around a look at it from the tranny end "07" and in between those, closer to the center line of the engine what looks like " B230" or maybe "8230" not sure which.

On the drivers side of that is GM 5.7 LG SGI, and just above that is what looks like G030.
